Joining the Trust

The North Tyneside Learning Trust is a partnership involving local schools working with colleges, universities and businesses. Schools are keen to work with businesses to ensure that the curriculum is business focused, to improve education and life chances for young people and to ensure they are prepared for the world of work once they progress to employment.

Employers work with the Learning Trust Schools to help them shape tomorrow’s workforce and to ensure their businesses access skilled pupils they need to grow their companies and to meet the future needs of the economy.

Becoming a Member of the Trust can have many advantages for our students and young people but what’s in it for your business?

  • Promotion of your business within the local community
  • Attract and develop the brightest young people into your company
  • Influence what pupils are taught
  • Ensure future workers have the skills you need
  • Addresses Corporate Social Responsibility in a meaningful manner

The Trust is constantly looking to attract more businesses in their activities. Businesses are currently involved as Board members, partner members engaged in ongoing activities within schools, providing school governors and supporting occasional activities. For businesses, involvement with the Trust as a school governor creates the opportunity to develop their staff to provide innovative business related solutions in the curriculum. Business governors bring specialist skills and experience to strengthen the governing body and contribute to the school’s ethos. The governing bodies of Trust Schools are made up of parents, staff, community and local authority governors and are responsible for all major decisions about the school and its future.

Bringing together Trust Schools with business will help to strengthen relationships and promote a more sustainable base for future growth.
