Work of the Trust
The North Tyneside Learning Trust is the foundation supporting schools across North Tyneside. We have designed a set of Trust programmes to support school development and wider community cohesion. A brief description of each of these programmes is contained below with links to further information.
The programme of activities is arranged within 4 key themes:
- World Schools Programme - an opportunity for schools to work towards achieving the Gold International Schools Award. Further Details
- Be Inspired - a programme of activities delivered in partnership with our local universities, for ages 3 to 18, and all settings that raise awareness of the Higher Education routeways and access to Higher Education resources available to young people. Further Details
- Curriculum Development - an opportunity for schools to work closer with employers to shape the curriculum to prepare young people for future careers. Further Details
- Trust Apprenticeship Programme - a Trust sponsored opportunity that increases the number of apprentices available to our young people. Further Details
Innovation Fund
This is an opportunity for schools to bid into the Trust’s Innovation Fund; a fund set up to provide grant funding for small innovative activities that encourage joint working within the Trust to raise aspirations and achievement of all our pupils. Further Details
Trust Foundation School Governors
As part of the role of partner, organisations can appoint employees to become Foundation Governors on any of the Trust schools. Each school will have two places which can be filled by Foundation Governors.
Foundation Governors will join the other four categories of governors, i.e. Parent, Staff, Authority and Community Governors to make up the membership of each governing body. Further Details
